Paulina Milewska
Paulina Milewska is a media expert, who currently works on an anti-SLAPP (strategic lawsuits against public participation) project for European Centre for Press and Media Freedom. She studied law at the University of Warsaw and the University of Padua. She was awarded the UNODA-OSCE Peace and Security scholarship. Paulina worked for Gazeta Wyborcza, the biggest daily newspaper in Poland, where she was the vice-chairperson of the board for Wysokie Obcasy Foundation and was involved in fundraising and advocacy efforts at the moment crucial for the future of the freedom of media in Poland. She cooperated with the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw as the deputy director of American Center Warsaw, focusing on programs covering disinformation. Prior to that Paulina co-founded an award-winning social enterprise supporting migrants and refugees – Kuchnia Konfliktu. She is a Humanity in Action and Aspen Institute Senior Fellow and German Marshall Fund Fellow for Rethink.CEE program. Under Rethink CEE she will focus on the question of how and why SLAPPs and legal threats are affecting Croatia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia.
