Balázs Váradi

Balázs is an economist and public policy analyst at the Budapest Institute and at ELTE University in Budapest. He was born in 1969 and received his undergraduate degree from Karl Marx University and his PhD from Yale University. He was an adviser to the prime minister of Hungary on education, healthcare, and social affairs, and he also served as a Council of Europe adviser to the Georgian government on education policy. While at the Budapest Institute, an independent think tank he co-founded six years ago, he has participated in several policy formulation and evaluation efforts for the European Commission, the Hungarian Government, as well as different NGOs.
