Aspen’s 10th Anniversary

On Wednesday, June 15, we organized the 10th anniversary celebration event that was held in the Prague Crossroad Centre.

We were honored to welcome a lot of special guests and close friends of the Aspen Institute CE at such a special occasion. At the beginning all the guests were welcomed by Ivan Hodáč, Founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board & Honorary Board Chairman of the Aspen Institute CE and Elliot Gerson, Executive Vice President of the Aspen Institute US.

The main speech was delivered by the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil, who pointed out that “Freedom and democracy are not granted, I respect everyone who stands for them. In these difficult times it is important more than ever to respect and recognize the right values-based leadership.”

During the evening, we were proud to present an incredibly moving video keynote message from the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. Her video message was delivered just a few hours after her husband, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky delivered his own speech to the members of the Czech Parliament.

We also paid tribute to Madeleine K. Albright, an inspirational person who founded the Aspen Institute CE 10 years ago and played an active role throughout the whole decade of its functioning. Her exemplary leadership and tireless support of our activities have helped the current direction of our Institute.
