Tomasz Szatkowski
TOMASZ SZATKOWSKI is a distinguished Polish political scientist and lawyer known for his expertise in national security, defense, and armaments policy. From 2019 to 2024 (expected) he has been serving as Poland’s Ambassador to NATO. Tomasz holds an M.A. in law from the University of Warsaw, with postgraduate degrees in National Security and War Studies from King’s College London. He has received advanced staff training from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. Throughout his career, Tomasz has held significant positions within the Polish state, defense industry, public media, and the European Parliament. He was a Deputy Minister of National Defense from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, he has served on the Boards of several key institutions, including the Bumar Group, Telewizja Polska, and the National Centre for Strategic Studies. He was a Munich Young Leader (Munich Security Conference and Koerber Stiftung), Asmus Fellow (German Marshall Fund of the US), International Leadership Program Nominee (Department of State the US), and Chevening Scholar (Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK).
