Jan Jakub is an affiliate fellow at the Jacques Delors Institut – Berlin. After studying flute, linguistics, management and public policy in Łódź, Mainz, Rotterdam and Berlin, he worked as a project manager at the Bertelsmann Stiftung. At the foundation he was involved in setting up an international rating agency and oversaw a project on the innovativeness of the German economy. Jan Jakub is currently writing his PhD on the impact of eurozone membership on negotiations in the Council of Ministers at the Hertie School of Governance. He is an alumnus of the German National Academic Foundation and of the Foundation of German Business.
