Jan Prášil

AYLP 2023 I.

Jan is an Energy Policy Professional with a knowledge of energy governance in the EU and electricity markets. He focuses on nuclear energy and is currently leading work on a roadmap for the possible development and deployment of Small Modular Reactors in the Czech Republic. Since July 2021, he has been the Director of Strategy and Research in Nuclear Energy at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. He also worked as a Senior EU Regulatory Affairs Specialist at ČEZ, Energy Policy Officer at the Government Office of the Czech Republic, and adviser to Czech members of the European Parliament in Brussels. Jan graduated from the University of Munich with an MA in Political Science, Philosophy and German. He also attended a post- graduate program in Corporate Law with an LLM from Nottingham Trent University. He also holds a certificate in International Nuclear Law from the University of Montpellier.
