Jiří Nantl
Jiří Nantl is the Deputy Governor of the South Moravian Region, responsible for self-government tasks related to the fields of education and smart region strategy. Since 2016, he has served as the Director of the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) at Masaryk University. Jiří has a long-standing interest in education and science policy, having served as the First Deputy Minister of Education, among other positions. He was at the inception of the Strategy of the Czech Republic’s Education Policy until 2020 and was part of the team introducing changes in higher education (HE) legislation and the new HE quality support model. On a conceptual basis, he was involved in the creation of the National Register of Qualifications as a communication tool between education and practice. In the past, Jiří also served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Higher Education Council, a member of the National Council for Qualifications or of the OECD Committee for Education Policy, and the Council of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Science, Technology and Innovation.
