Marie studied Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham and spent some time in pre-clinical as well as clinical research. She is a co-founder and former CEO of the NGO Nevypusť Duši which brings mental health awareness, education, and resources not only to Czech schools but also to the general public and businesses. With Nevypusť Duši Marie also focuses on advocacy work in the Czech public sector with the aim to bring more well-being to the educational system and advocate for the respect for human rights in mental health care facilities. She is a member of the Czech National Mental Health Council and an AYLP alumna.
