Michal is a Slovakian fiction writer. He is the author of six books, which have been translated into German, Polish, Italian, Bulgarian, and Czech. He is a civil rights activist and regular contributor on culture and politics to various daily papers and magazines in Central Europe. He got his Master Degree at the University in Nitra. He previously served as the fellow of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. He has one son, Maxim.
