ROMAN BLAZHAN is a documentary film Director and Producer. Born in Donetsk, he initially pursued a career in energy trading and finance. After the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, he lost his home, became disillusioned with his prior career, and decided to start anew, finding his passion in filmmaking. Roman now leads Minimal Movie, a prominent documentary film production company. He has directed and produced numerous documentary shorts, music videos, and commercials. His feature-length debut, ‘The Basement’ (2024), had its world premiere at BAFICI in Argentina and its European premiere at DOK.FEST München. The film continues to be featured on the festival circuit. Since 2022, Roman has been based in Germany.
