NextGen: The Future of Forming a Society in the Cloud
In the hyper-connected and technologically savvy world, a nation state is becoming an outdated way of dividing up societies geopolitically, often within highly contentious borders. New technologies allow us to engage across borders and address social, health, environmental, and economic challenges beyond the state level. With the internet, artificial intelligence and digitalisation, cloud societies can thus exist in parallel, and enable people to benefit from an inclusive economy, sustainable community, and access to services otherwise confined to the monopoly of state institutions.
We cordially invite you to the public debate entitled The Future of Forming a Society In the Cloud which will be held on August 31 at 15:00 (CEST) which will discuss the topic of the cloud society as organic communities of people where nationality and demographics don’t matter, and where the community is connected by the internet and is capable of providing services like that of the state (education, healthcare, currency) in a decentralised, encrypted, truly democratic, and global way. They are not mutually exclusive with nation states, but offer an alternative of social belonging if your state of birth or origin does not provide you with the conditions which make you happy, and are philosophically based on freedom and voluntary belonging.
This interdisciplinary debate will be covered from various angles by:
- Josef Je (Ethereum Foundation)
- Tomas Mikolov (Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics)
- Karel Smejkal(Architect, co-founder INSPIRELI.com)
- Edmund Owen (Captain of the UK Amry & University of Oxford studied Archaeologist)
Moderator:
- Sara Polak (Paioneers lab, prg.ai, AYLP Alumna)
