Martin graduated from Comenius University Bratislava in 2010. With a genuine interest in public policy, he began working at the Institute for Financial Policy at the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic as an environmental and energy analyst. He received his second Master‘s in specialized economic analysis from Barcelona Graduate School of Economics in 2013. As an ad-hoc consultant for OECD, he worked on the regional disparities of the Slovak economy and its resource efficiency. In 2016, he became chief economist and director of the Institute for Environmental Policy, a newly established analytical unit at the Ministry of Environment. With a small team of dedicated economists, he is building the capacity to promote evidence based policy-making in Slovakia.
